Amazing Acrylics (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES–Tuesday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

Study will emphasize basic color mixing and materials. Using a minimum of colors, explore the versatility of acrylics, along with a variety of techniques. You'll delve into this exciting medium, studying glazing, impasto, and an in-depth study of mediums and gels. Click here for supply list

Acrylics, Oils, or Mixed Media

3D Collage and Mixed Media (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

SARGENT– Wednesday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

Play with traditional and found materials to create 2D and 3D mixed media collage. Discover how texture, color and composition can change the meaning of your work, and experiment with items such as old photographs, found images, wire, text, paper or fabric scraps. Learn gluing basics and image transfer techniques. Classes are low-key and include demos, individual guidance, resources and supportive critiques. Click here for supply list

3D Assemblage and Small Objects (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

SARGENT– Wednesday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

This class is a continuation of the 3D Collage class, but is designed for any level student who wants to explore 3D art making. Create small sculptures and 3D assemblages like Joseph Cornell’s story boxes, and incorporate fouind objects, personal items and other ephemera. Each project builds on the last to improve composition and spatial skills while learning alternative techniques. Plenty of individual guidance, resources, group critiques and demos.

Oils or Acrylics, Landscapes (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

PENNOR– Thursday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

Learn how to paint landscapes simply. Paint along step by step, with oil or acrylics or work from your own photo. Individual attention will be offered.

Painting with a Vision (Intermediate, Advanced)

TURNER– Thursday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

Painting with a vision is for experienced painters who have tired of that walk down the road of realism. If you are looking to take that leap of blind faith into a more creative world, this is the class for you. Artistic guidance, group support and general hand-holding is offered.

Colored Pencil

Colored Pencil (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

Water-Soluble Colored Pencils (Beginner, Intermediate)

LIMES–Wednesday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

These highly portable pencils are great for travel and studio work. Each week we will work on techniques and “how to’s” with a variety of subject matter and explore methods of combining graphite and regular colored pencil with water soluble pencils.

Colored Pencil with Pen and Ink (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

LIMES–Wednesday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

In this class, students will work with pen and ink to create drawings using various techniques, such as stippling and hatching. Students will be adding color to these pen and ink drawings with colored pencil, water-soluble colored pencils or traditional watercolor paints. This is a great technique to add a special touch to  your artwork, sketchbook and journaling.

DRAW, DRAW, DRAW—Color Pencil Adventure! (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES –Friday afternoons (12:30-3:00 PM)

Create captivating still lifes. Session A focuses on the best uses of the media. Blending and mixing with transparent and opaque color will be explored in depth. Session B will focus on composition and color application on a variety of surfaces. You will also use personal photographic material as reference.  Session C concentrates on ways of combining color pencil with mixed media on a variety of paper surfaces. Click here for supply list
