Acrylics

Amazing Acrylics 1 (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES–Tuesday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

Study will emphasize basic color mixing and materials. Using a minimum of colors, explore the versatility of acrylics, along with a variety of techniques. You'll delve into this exciting medium, studying glazing, impasto, and an in-depth study of mediums and gels. Click here for supply list

I LOVE PAINTING WITH Acrylic Paints. They are easy to use and easy to clean up. Let me teach you the beautiful and fun way to paint with acrylics. Bring a photo that you want to paint from. It can be a landscape, portrait (person or animal) or still life. Your style can be realistic, impressionistic or abstract. If you prefer I can supply you with a photo to work from. Colored Pencil

Colored Pencil One (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

LIMES–Wednesday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

New projects and layout for this colored pencil class that is designed for everyone. You will work in sketchbooks to organize ideas, record information and do exercises for color and drawing. There will be time spent on understanding color theory and creating a personalized color wheel for easy reference in future art work. Click here for supply list

Colored Pencil with Pen and Ink (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

LIMES–Wednesday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

Students will work with pen and ink to create drawings using various techniques, such as stippling and hatching. Then the students will be able to explore many mediums to add color to their drawings with colored pencils, water-soluble colored pencils along with many others that I share in class. We will also explore journaling and enhancing your personal sketchbooks. Click here for supply list

Colored Pencil and Graphite Studio (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

LIMES–Wednesday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

This class is designed to let students really explore their creativity. There will be exercises in class to help the artist try new styles, techniques and size of artwork and drawings. The student will have the opportunity to add and try other mediums that I will bring in to share along with their graphite and colored pencils. Drawing Fundamentals (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

Drawing is the ability to see in a new way. Explore the foundations of drawing. Learn new skills or reacquaint yourself with techniques that are the underpinnings for all works of art. Basic drawing media (pencil, charcoal and ink) will be employed with the emphasis placed on the process of seeing the world with an artist's eye. Click here for supply list

Portraits (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

ROTTSOLK–Tuesday afternoons (12:30- 3:00 PM)

Become acquainted with the fundamental relationships of shapes and values in drawing the human head. Learn the proportions of the head and facial features while focusing on the variations that create a unique individual portrait. Beginners develop black and white studies - while advanced students can move into color. Classes will work from photo references, a live model and then from their own photographs. . Gesture Drawing (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

ROTTSOLK–Tuesday afternoons (12:30-3:00 PM)

Refine your understanding of the human figure. Review physical proportions, construction and how the body moves. Emphasis is placed on developing quick, gesture drawings and portraying the figure in relaxed and informal poses. We will work from live models and photo references. Click here for supply list

Advanced Drawing (Intermediate, Advanced)

The principles and techniques introduced in Drawing Fundamentals are refined and combined with developing personal style. Students will experiment with new techniques, materials and approaches to varied subject matter. Artistic judgment and composition are emphasized. Click here for supply list
