Pastel Painting in Three Steps (Beginner, Intermediate)

ZACK–Friday afternoons (12:30 -3:00 PM)

There seems to be a renaissance in the use of pastel! Some relatively new advances in the pastel medium, as well as improved painting surfaces and better ways to frame and protect your finished pastel paintings are the focus of this pastel class. Working with professional artist grade soft pastels and/or high grade oil pastels make painting in pastel more desirable than ever for the pastel artist and the collector. Be sure to follow the supply list for this class. Not all pastels will work for the techniques and its forgiving nature makes working with pastel a great medium for creating luminous, spontaneous and atmospheric paintings.
