Digital Photo Fundamentals (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

DRURY–Friday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

Take full advantage of your digital camera including the aesthetics of making images. Bring your camera and manual (Point and Shoot or DSLR). Each week there are ―homework' assignments designed to show you the capabilities of your camera and exercise your creative skills. Each week we will look at the images and discuss the results. Limit 12

More Digital Photo Fundamentals (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

This class is a continuing class for participants who have completed the Introductory class, and builds upon its foundations. In this second class you will have additional opportunities to create images using Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual exposure modes. Each week we'll address a new aspect of digital photography and its relationship to the computer. In addition we'll challenge you with a new image-making assignment which we'll review at the subsequent class. Use this class to grow your photographic and related computer skills. Limit 12

Beginning Watercolor (Beginner, Intermediate)

WAHLGREN–Monday mornings (9:30-12:00 PM)

Watercolor does not have to be muddy or mysterious. The basics will be covered, from setting up the paint box to painting techniques. This class is both for beginners and the continuing student who wants to review and strengthen basic skills. Projects will include fruit, flowers, landscapes, and composition. Discover Watercolor – BOLD, LOOSE & FUN (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

DANIELSON–Monday afternoons (1:00-3:30 PM)

This class is designed for both the beginner and the intermediate student who is ready to explore and discover watercolors by first setting a secure foundation of skills and techniques and then striving for a personal artistic statement. Values, color, and composition will be covered. Classes will include demos, individual guidance, support, and critiques in a friendly environment. Wet-Into-Wet Watercolors (Intermediate, Advanced)

FRANCE–Friday mornings (9:30 – 12:00 PM)

Get rid of the mud and fussy detail. Learn wet-into-wet watercolor techniques to take advantage of the medium's unique properties. The class will focus on producing loose, fresh, spontaneous paintings by letting the magic of watercolors work for you. Contrast, color, composition and edge variety will be emphasized.
There will be a demo by the instructor, then during student painting, plenty of personal attention will be available. A positive critique will complete the class.
Photo references will be supplied but students may bring their own. Landscapes, cityscapes, preferably images with some geometry, buildings, boats, etc. are preferred. Click here for supply list

The Basics of Watercolor Painting (Beginner, Intermediate)

BRUCE–Friday mornings (9:30 – 12:00 PM)

This watercolor class will be for those beginning watercolor and who have some experience in the medium. We will make watercolor fun and exciting, forget about how difficult it seems! We will concentrate on the basics of producing a good painting starting with sketching skills, perspective, composition and techniques. We will explore various directions from landscape to still life. Each will have the opportunity to explore their own creative talents. Critiques will be part of the process. Capturing the Beauty of Flowers (Beginner, Intermediate)

MCGAHAN–Friday mornings (9:30 – 12:00 PM)

Delicate or bold, simple or elaborate, in this class we'll focus on painting flowers. Using primarily watercolor glazes we will experiment on two interesting surfaces—watercolor canvas and clayboard. We will also explore how adding inks and water soluble colored pencil can enhance our work.

Live Model Head Study (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

ARMBRUSTER–Wednesday evenings (7:00 – 9:30 PM)

Same pose for two consecutive Wednesday evenings. Attend any evening you wish, unannounced. Class fee is due during the session. Medium of your choice. $12 per session

Life Drawing & Painting (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

BREED & ZAJCZENKO–Saturday afternoons (1:30 – 4:30 PM)

Practice drawing, it really makes you a better artist. The 3-hour pose gives you the time to make corrections and build confidence. Use your favorite media. Bring all necessary art supplies to class. Pay at the front desk before class. No registration. Come when you can so we can continue to provide this unique opportunity to paint a live model. $15 per session
