Art of the Comic Strip (ages 8-15) (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

WELCH–Wednesday mornings (9:30-11:00 AM)

This course takes you through the development of concepts, story lines, composition and rendering techniques for comic strips. You'll  have fun as you create your  own characters and place them in a variety of interesting situations and settings. Click here for supply list

Amazing Acrylics 2 Beyond Basics (ages 10-17) (Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES–Wednesday afternoons (4:15-5:45 PM)

Acrylics for intermediate and advanced students.  Learn techniques, shortcuts and advantages of acrylic paints.  Using different material surfaces each week, students will discover how to create unique effects with acrylic and other media.  Some materials provided. Art of the Graphic Novel (ages 8-15) (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

WELCH–Thursday mornings (9:30-11:00 AM)

From script to page layout and illustration, this course develops your creative writing and illustration skills for the development of basic graphic novel pages.  See your stories and characters come to life as you create panels with interesting angles and perspective.  Explore a variety of rendering techniques to help develop mood, contrast and illustrative emphasis. Wondrous Color with Faces (ages 8-16) (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES–Thursday afternoons (2:00-3:30 PM)

This is the course that makes people “pop”. From Manet to Picasso, draw figures and objects, add backgrounds and create interesting compositions. You'll work with vibrant pastels and color pencils to make your drawings come to life. If you have any supplies, bring them with you, otherwise supplies will be provided.

Wondrous Color with Pastels and color Pencils (ages 8-16) (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

FINES–Thursday afternoons (2:00-3:30 PM)

Imagine the burst of color when you combine these brilliant mediums!  This course focuses on the various applications and characteristics of each, as well as famous drawings created with these two “dry” materials.  If you have any supplies, bring them with you, otherwise supplies will be provided.
