Wet-Into-Wet, Material Selection and Handling of Oils
Chad Wooters $40.00/session Max 10 students
Sunday, Nov. 15, 1–4 PM Adults and Teens 15+
Alla prima—often translated from Italian as “at first attempt”— describes completing a picture in a single studio session while the pigment stays wet. In this hands-on workshop, each student creates their own “exemplar,” an image designed to embody the lessons of its own creation.
Using instructor-provided tools and materials, students will explore paint viscosity, pigment properties, and layer behavior across every stage of a picture’s development — from imprimatura to finishing. Instruction covers paint modifiers and specialized brushes to place color cleanly without disturbing the layers below.
This workshop repeats on Dec. 6
