Description
Gouache Day! – Kathleen Newman $160.00
Saturday, April 25 from 10 AM – 4:30 PM ……. Min 5 students/Max 15.
Painting with gouache provides many opportunities for an artist to sketch on site, explore design and color strategies in preparation for larger works, and enjoy the spontaneity of fearless expression! Gouache is very portable, sets up easily, dries quickly, and can be easily corrected by layering, blending, and lifting.
In this beginning class, Kathleen will provide exercises to learn gouache’s unique properties by experimenting with water ratios and mixing color. After lunch, there will be a paint-along to practice the new techniques and get a feel for this very exciting opaque medium!
Kathleen creates paintings inspired by her love of the outdoors and expression of light and shadow across the landscape, urban environment, and interior settings. She has been awarded the International Association of Pastel Societies’ Eminent Pastelist distinction, an IAPS Master Circle recipient, Signature status in the Pastel Society of America, the American Impressionist Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and is a Chicago Pastel Painters Master.
