DANCE IN THE LIGHT: PAINTING WATER & REFLECTIONS IN PASTELS

Together in this class, we will explore how to paint water and reflections in the pastel landscape. You will learn to better understand how to see, evaluate, and create reflections, whether the water is still or suggests movement.

Working from instructor-provided photographs (or your own reference photos with strong lighting), students will experiment with a variety of mark-making techniques and gain a deeper understanding of what makes a successful painting. Discover the versatility and enduring appeal of pastel while learning how to express yourself through both bold, expressive strokes and subtle shifts in color temperature that create lively, believable landscapes with water as the subject.

Whether you want to capture water in a stream, lake, or ocean, this class will help you explore the many possibilities of pastel and find your joy! B. I. A.
