Also called Life Drawing, live figure classes involve a nude model. Without clothes the model can be rendered in a timeless fashion. Stripped of culture and place in time, there is no difference between those figures drawn today and those created in a Renaissance classroom. The nude figure, depending on pose and artistic skill, can suggest every aspect of humanity from the pathetic to the narcissistic or heroic. When you attend a figure drawing class, you are participating in a tradition that is hundreds, possibly thousands of years old. Students render their own artwork, there is no instruction during these sessions. Students may use the medium of their choice. Typically, the model will provide five -5-minute poses for warm up, and then one or two long poses (1-2 hrs.).
A minimum of 4 students must be registered by Saturday, January 14, in order to cover the model fees and hold the class.

Supplies
Any medium may be used to represent the model’s body, including pencil, ink, charcoal, crayon, pastels, chalk, acrylic, oil, or mixed media.
